ELIGIBILITY & HANDICAPS
Each member of your team should average a nine-hole score of 52 or less or be able to complete nine holes of golf, in a foursome, in under 2 hours and 15 minutes. Course handicaps roll over from the previous year for returning players and substitutes. New players will establish their starting course handicap after week 1.  Course handicaps will change throughout the year based on performance. A WSGA/USGA handicap is not required.

90% of individual course handicaps will be used each week in determining weekly handicaps.

The largest number of handicap strokes we will award any player is 18 for nine holes, regardless of handicap calculations.

LEAGUE FORMAT:

There will be two Divisions with a maximum of 12 teams in each division. Each league night begins with a shotgun start at 5:30 pm. League will alternate play on the front and back-9’s. Men play from the white tees on the front-9 and the black tees on the back-9. Ladies play from the green tees. The format for week 1 is net stroke play for returning players. New players will be establishing a course handicap the first week. Weeks 2 through 12 will be net better ball match play versus another team in your division.

Weeks 13-15 will be the playoffs. The top four teams from each division in the season long point standings will earn a spot to play for the league championship. These eight teams will participate in a best-ball single elimination match play. Substitutes are not allowed to play in championship matches weeks 13-15. Teams not qualifying for the playoffs will still play in a 2-person best ball and shamble format these weeks.

The year-end banquet will take place after play on August 12th.

NO SHOWS

If a team member is unable to show for a week’s scheduled match, the remaining player has two options:

  • Find a player with an average nine-hole score of less than 52. This player must be reported to the Head Golf Professional or golf professional on duty prior to 11 a.m. of the scheduled league day. If that player has a USGA Handicap (no other handicaps are allowable; including internet-based), it will be multiplied by .9 and then cut in half for nine-hole league use.  If the player does not have a handicap, he/she will play at scratch. No exceptions.
  • Go without a partner and play your own ball against the other team for the match.
  • Substitute players will have established a course handicap after their first time as a sub. Substitute handicaps from the previous season will be used for the current season. Handicap will only be used from the previous year.

It is your responsibility to make arrangements and have two players each week. Teams that do not show up will be awarded zero points for that night and 1 point will be subtracted from their season total.

If a team drops out of the league after the league season has started, all teams will receive an automatic 6 points for that match regardless of whether they have already played that team or not.

We will attempt to alternate between play on the front and back nine, but please understand that this is not always possible.

Ladies League 4-Players

LEAGUE INFORMATION

Ladies League begins on Wednesday, April 30th and will conclude on August 13th. The league will run for 15 weeks. Tee-times will begin at 4:20 pm and run until 5:33 pm. Your 4-some will have the same set tee time each week you play. The only exception will be the last night of August 13th. We will be doing a 5:00 shotgun start (everyone will start at 5:00) with dinner to follow play. Teams need to consist of 4 players and should be able to play 9-holes in 2 hours and 15 minutes or less time. Sign up as a foursome or if we have twosome or single spots available, we can help pair you up with other ladies. When registering online please request the time frame you would like to play and provide the names of the other ladies you will be playing with in the notes section. We will get your group as close to that time as possible. League play will alternate between the front and back 9’s.

REGISTRATION

Registration fee is $410 plus tax and includes 9-hole green fees, cart, weekly prize fund and end of season banquet.

SUBS

If you are unable to attend any given week, please try to find a substitute. Substitute players will be eligible to play in the games using an established WSGA handicap or established Kestrel Ridge course average. If they do not have a WSGA handicap or a Kestrel Ridge scoring average, they will not qualify for any net winnings until an average is established. Please let us know if you will have a regular person/people as a substitute. We will record their scores so they can establish an average.

GAMES

There will be a variety of fun individual and team events each week. The first week of the league we will be playing an individual game. Returning players’ averages will roll over from the previous year. New players will be establishing a starting Kestrel Ridge scoring average that night. We will begin using these averages in week 2 and throughout the summer. Averages will fluctuate during the season based on players’ scores. (This is not an official WSGA handicap, if you are interested in one, they may be purchased for a $35 fee). When playing games that require an individual’s hole-by-hole or net score all putts will need to be holed out and no redos or mulligans please.

GOLF SHOP CREDIT

All winnings from weekly games or hole contests are paid out in golf shop credit.
